KnowledgeNet.ai posts are the building blocks of your organization's collective knowledge. Posts are designed to be accessible to all team members present and future.
Anatomy of a KnowledgeNet.ai Post
Recipients
Why are recipients optional? Because KnowledgeNet.ai posts are meant to be public. By default, posts are visible on the "All Posts" timeline of everyone in your organization.
If you want to bring a post to a specific person's or group's attention, you'll want to notify them. Notification means your post is copied to their personal timeline and, as extra insurance, sent via email.
You can use any of the following actions to send a post notification:
Identify an individual or group as a recipient in the "Recipients" field, for example:
Use the @ symbol to mention colleagues in the body of the post, for example:
Use the # symbol to tag contacts, accounts, or groups in the subject line or body of the post. This sends post notifications to anyone following those topics. To read more about tagging, check out this article on Using the # symbol.
Subject
Subjects are also optional, but it's a good idea to include one. Having a post subject gives it a clear title that stands out in timelines.
Post Body
The formatting menu appears above the post text box allowing you to use (from left to right): bold, italics, underline, text color, numbered lists, bulleted lists, adding attachments, and inserting hyperlinks.
If you need to stop in the middle of a post and complete it later, save it by clicking "Save Draft." To re-open it, open a new post, go to the ellipses (three dots) menu, and choose "Load Saved Messages." Select your desired post.
Email Notifications
As described above, post copies are normally sent via email to anyone who is:
1. listed as a post recipient.
2. tagged with the @ symbol in the post.
3. following contact, accounts, or groups tagged with the # symbol in the post.
Email notifications are turned on by default. To turn off email notifications, use the toggle switch in the left-hand corner below the post body.
Private Posts
Making a post private means that you have decided that ONLY the people listed in the Recipients field should ever be able to see a copy of your post.
Posts are left public by default. To turn on the private post option, use the toggle switch in the left-hand corner above the post body.
