In KnowledgNet, rooms are where all communication takes place. It is where messages, comments, and files are exchanged and tasks managed on any given topic. Organizations also have the option of connecting news feeds, external file storage services, and CRMs, if they wish.

Rooms can be either public or private. While every user in KnowledgeNet has the ability to create a private room, only someone with Administrator privileges can create a public room. Public rooms and their content are visible to every internal member of an organization.

Using folders to organize rooms is optional.

In this example, I created a main navigation link called "Travel," then made two folders to organize my travel into "Business" and "Personal Travel."

Now I want to create a public room in which to communicate about a specific personal trip. To create a public room:

  1. Navigate to the tab or folder where you want your room located.

  2. Click the "Create New Room" button.

3. Give your room a name and click "OK."

4. Congratulations! Your room is now open.

5. To get inside your room, click the right arrow next to its name.

6. You'll see a screen like this.
